Chats & Chalupas, An O'Connor House Tradition

Arizona State Legislature Freshmen Members along with Leadership recently gathered for “Chats & Chalupa’s” at O’Connor House, the historic former home of Justice O’Connor. The tradition of “Chats & Chalupas” bipartisan dinner began several years ago with Justice O’Connor sharing stories as to how she worked across the aisle with her fellow members of the legislature. Justice O’Connor encouraged civil discourse and a collegial environment.

Co-Chaired by Representatives Aaron Lieberman and Ben Toma, legislators enjoyed dinner from recipes that then Senator and Majority Leader Sandra Day O’Connor served her colleagues. The adobe home of Justice O’Connor continues to be the perfect setting for civil discourse over a traditional Southwestern meal.
