ENRICHING AMERICA’S STORIES:
Expanding Diverse Collection

With Distinguished Guest Speaker

DR. CARLA HAYDEN
14th Librarian of Congress

Dr. Carla Hayden is the 14th Librarian of Congress in our nation’s history, serving in three presidential administrations.

Dr. Hayden will discuss the 13th Amendment ratified by Congress in 1865 and signed by President Abraham Lincoln as well as “Of the People: Widening the Path,” a new program funded by the Mellon Foundation which creates new opportunities for more Americans to engage with the Library of Congress and add their perspectives to the Library’s collections.

Allowing the national library to share a more inclusive American story, Of The People will expand the Library’s efforts to ensure that a diversity of experiences is reflected in our historical record and inform how we use those materials to understand our past.

The program will include online live Q&A.
