2026 John Jay Fetzer Memorial Scholarship Recipient
The Institute is pleased to announce that Emma Moroz, of Staten Island, New York, has been selected as a 2026 recipient of this prestigious $5,000 scholarship.
Emma was very involved in mock trials from her middle school days through high school. Emma believes that mock trials transformed the way she understands democracy and justice. Emma completed 446 hours of service over the last four years, with 133 of those hours being completed during her senior year. She is a two-time recipient of the Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award and a one-time recipient of the Bronze President’s Volunteer Service Award.
To quote Emma, “Without community service, I wouldn’t be the same person I am today; someone who knows to step into the other person’s shoes first, and never to judge someone by where they are in life.”
She will join the student body at Lafayette College in the fall of 2026.
